Greensboro in 1990

The year currently is 2005. We all know what roads are like in 2005. But, do you remember the past? A lot of changes have occured in the past 15 years. I will explain a few.

1. The Winston-Salem I-40 bypass was still under construction so Business 40 was still Interstate 40.

2. US 220 merged onto Interstate 85 instead of Interstate 40 because the freeway hadn't been extended to Interstate 40.

3. Interstate 40 ended at the current Interstate 40/Business 85 split in Death Valley.

4. Obviously, the Interstate 85 Bypass (Painter Blvd.), hadn't been built yet.

5. Bryan Blvd. ended at New Garden Rd. and the section at the airport was called Airport Pkwy.

6. Intersate 840 from Interstate 40/85 to US-70 hadn't been built yet.

7. US 421 was routed along Market St. instead of I-40.

That is all I can think of. If you can think of anymore, please email me.
