Why I Like Roads
I feel like I need to let you all know why I'm a roadgeek.
It can probably be traced back as early as 1989. As a baby, I would just look out the window and watch the road go by. I remember as a toddler how I would watch the lines.
My first beach trip was in 1996. I doubt that's when I became a road fan, but it was the first time I rode on Interstate 40 for a long distance.
The first time I started reading about roads on the Internet was around 1998. I even remember the first road site I ever went. It was Manual of Traffic Signs. That gave the ol' roadgeek gene some fuel.
But in September of 2003, I became an offical roadgeek. Ever since then, I've been taking pictures of roads, reading maps, and reading Internet sites.
