Interstate 285

US-52 is the main throughway to Winston-Salem and Lexington. But the section of US-52 in Winston-Salem has been a nightmare for traffic for a long time.

But according to the Strategic Highway Corridors of 2004, US-52 is in for some improvements. The DOT is planning to upgrade US-52 to Interstate standards within the next few years.

This will also introduce Interstate 285. Interstate 285 will multiplex with US-52 from Business 85 in Lexington to Winston-Salem.

I'm very excited about this improvement and I'm sure the people who commute on US-52 everyday are very excited about it too.
