Parallels

The Interstate System is mostly based upon original US routes. This means several Interstates are parallel to US routes. Let's take a look at several here in North Carolina.

1. Interstate 40 and US-70

2. Interstate 85 and US-29

3. Interstate 77 and US-21

4. Interstate 95 is originally traced back to US-17. More recently, US-301.

5. Interstate 74 and US-74 (Weird, huh?)

6. Interstate 73 and US-220

7. Interstate 26 and US-25?
