Bridge Review: Snow's Cut Bridge
This is one of my favorite bridges. It's the only bridge connecting Pleasure Island and the Wilmington mainland. Pleasure Island is the island Carolina Beach and Kure Beach is.
Snow's Cut Bridge is a bridge located on US-421. It goes over the Intracoastal Waterway, however all of my maps don't include the real name of this stretch of water connecting the ocean to the Cape Fear River.
This is the view from South US-421. As you can see, it's your average everyday causeway. But that doesn't keep it from being interesting.
This is the view from North US-421. What made me mad about this beach trip is that the pictures I took coming home look better than the ones I took on the way to the beach. Compare this to the last one.
This is a Northbound view of this unnamed body of water running into the Atlantic Ocean and an unnamed inlet.

The body of water that the bridge crosses is called "Snow's Cut" hence the name of the bridge.
Why is the water called Snow's Cut?
don't know the story behind the name, but Snow's Cut was formed in 1929 when the land was dredged officially creating the island.
